CLIMBIZ Module 2, Istanbul Presentations

The second Climbiz training and workshop was organized on 25- 27th of September, 2013 in Istanbul, Turkey in cooperation with and supported by the UNDP IICPSD, IRP, IPC/Sabanci University, UNGC and Ashoka.

• Mr. Nikolaus Hutter, Director of Europe for Toniic LLC gave a presentation about "Impact Investing: Unprecedented Opportunity Trhough the Emergence of the Sustainable Economy" which can be accessed here

CLIMBIZ Module 1, Vienna Presentations

The first workshop of the CLIMBIZ acceleration program was organized between 5th and 8th of July, 2013 in Vienna, Austria in cooperation with the Investment Ready Program, an initiative to advance social entrepreneurship in Central and Eastern Europe, through capacity building and catalyzing impact investment.
The main objectives of the first workshop were to introduce the CLIMBiZ Challengers to the trainers, consultants and mentors, start the acceleration program, assess the current stage of development of each participant venture, analyze their strengths and weakness and establish future steps and sectors for improvement.

Forum: Enabling Green and Inclusive Markets in the Black Sea Region

On November 23rd 2012 CLIMBIZ implemented the Forum “Enabling Green and Inclusive Markets in the Black Sea Region”, a multi-stakeholder forum to discuss green and Inclusive entrepreneurship and incubation; green growth and corporate sustainability; as well as green finance, trade and investment opportunities in the Black Sea region. Background Analysis: Climate Change Adaptation and the Black Sea Region

This document was compiled by CLIMBIZ and provides an overview about climate change adaptation in the Black Sea region. First, it summarizes the environmental challenges, development shortcomings, and vulnerabilities to climate change in the Black Sea basin. Then it discusses the region's embeddedness in international climate change governance structures and national efforts to tackle climate. Subsequently it summarizes the multiple roles of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization and the Black Sea Commission and their contribution to sustainable development, as well as lessons-learned from on-going research projects. This document was compiled by CLIMBIZ and provides an overview about the green economy of the Black Sea region. First, it provides an overview about the concept and international green economy initiatives. Priority sectors and opportunities for the transition to a green economy are discussed, as well as its interrelation with climate change. Green finance and entrepreneurship are highlighted as key drivers for combating climate change and the transition to a green economy. A stakeholder analysis looks at key players engaged to move the Black Sea region on a greener development pathway. Then it discusses the region's embeddedness in international sustainable development governance structures and explains the multiple roles of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization and the Black Sea Commission and their contribution to sustainable development.
