THE INTERNATIONAL JURY

The International Jury of the CLIMBIZ Scaling Challenge is comprised of representatives from distinguished expert organizations pioneering the field of social and environmental entrepreneurship in Central and Eastern Europe, such as

• Central European University (CEU) InnovationsLab is an incubator focused on providing learning opportunities for students, such as testing ideas for new ventures, research opportunities for faculty, and curriculum development.
• HUB Vienna Incubation Center provides supporting programs for social entrepreneurs and excels at creating highly engaging environments and impactful workshops.
• NESsT develops sustainable social enterprises that solve critical social problems in emerging market economies.
• SEED supports innovative small-scale and locally driven entrepreneurships around the globe which integrate social and environmental benefits into their business model. SEED was founded by UNEP, UNDP and IUCN at the 2002 World Summit on Sustainable Development in Johannesburg.
• UNEP MAP Regional Activity Centre for Cleaner Production (CP/RAC) is a centre for international cooperation with Mediterranean countries on development and innovation in the production sector and civil society, based on more sustainable consumption and production models.
• Toniic is an international impact investor network promoting a sustainable global economy by investing in entrepreneurs addressing the fundamental needs of people and planet.

Alexis Eremia - Head of the HUB Vienna Incubation Center

Driven by a deep passion for human evolution, Romanian born Alexis Eremia co-founded emersense – a Vienna based social venture dedicated to creating ‘enabling spaces’ where young, idealistic, and sometimes big dreams can flourish – and the HUB Vienna – a co-working space for social entrepreneurs, where she heads the Incubation Center. Emersense and the HUB aim to create an ecosystem (supportive structures, processes, elements) that can enable individuals to make use of their potential of positive societal transformation, to engage their talents and their efforts for the betterment of the world by contributing to and developing new organizations, new solutions to address current and future issues in an innovative and sustainable way.


Andreja Rosandić - NESsT Enterprise Development Manager Croatia

Andreja Rosandić is responsible for overseeing and managing planning, implementation, and evaluation of NESsT’s Portfolio in Croatia. Prior to joining NESsT, Andreja worked for five years at the Academy for Educational Development (AED) where she was responsible for managing a variety of small grants for various NGOs. She also worked on several EU projects, as an Evaluator for PHARE 2005 and 2006, as well as a Consultant in the field of Vocational Education. In addition, she worked for a year as an advocate of Children’s Rights. Andreja holds a Master of Science degree in Multidisciplinary Studies from State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo and a Bachelor’s degree in Social Pedagogy from the University of Zagreb, Croatia.


Bala Mulloth - Faculty Director of CEU InnovationsLab

Bala Mulloth is Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management at Central European University (CEU) Business School. He is also the Faculty Director of CEU InnovationsLab, an incubator focused on providing learning opportunities for students, such as testing ideas for new ventures, research opportunities for faculty, and curriculum development. Prior to moving to Hungary and joining CEU Business School, he was the Senior Manager of Polytechnic Institute of New York University's Office of Innovation Development, Technology Transfer and Entrepreneurship. His main research focus is in entrepreneurship and innovation, particularly in the areas of clean technology innovation. He holds a PhD in Technology Management from Polytechnic Institute of New York University.


Constance Hybsier - SEED Programme Manager

Constance Hybsier has joined the SEED team in August 2009. Previously Constance was a Programme Officer with UNDP Viet Nam where she was responsible for the thematic areas human rights, anti-corruption and civil society. Before moving to Viet Nam she was part of the UNDP Bulgaria team working on Public Private Partnerships and the Global Compact and led UN Communications and UN reform efforts in FYR Macedonia. She also shortly worked on HIV/AIDS prevention in Sri Lanka and on environmental issues in Bhutan. Constance has a degree in Anthropology from Goldsmiths College, London and a Masters Degree in Development Studies from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), London.


Jesus Iglesias Saugar - Consultant CP RAC Green Entrepreneurship Initiative

Jesus is co-founder of Emprendae and Incubaeco, a network of organizations aimed at empowering and incubating eco-entrepreneurs. Along his career path he has been a host at the Hub Madrid, an engineer and a researcher in Planetary and Earth System Sciences at the Paris Observatory (France), the CNES (French Space Agency), NASA-SETI Institute (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence) and the University of California - Berkeley (USA). Jesus works as consultant for International Organizations and think tanks in the field of green entrepreneurship such as with the UNEP MAP Regional Activity Center for Cleaner Production.


Nikolaus Hutter - Director Europe for Toniic LLC

Nikolaus is the European Director for Toniic LLC, a global early-stage impact investor network. An investment executive and entrepreneur with close to 15 years international experience, Nikolaus also initiated the first capacity building program for social entrepreneurs in Central and Eastern Europe. Prior, he worked in operating roles in the Cleantech industry, and for 10 years as Venture Capital investor, most recently as Sector Partner Cleantech with CEE investment firm 3TS Capital Partners, and as a Partner with Austrian VC firm Gamma Capital Partners, where he build the Cleantech practice. He serves on the board and as an advisor to several organizations in the social entrepreneurship and impact investment space, and has been lecturing on Social Entrepreneurship at WU Wien since 2008. Nikolaus read business in Vienna and Strasburg, and Political Economy at the London School of Economics.
